Features of Tennis PRO!

The complete, comprehensive and professional database designed for the Australian and New Zealand Tennis industry.

Tennis PRO! is superior to other tennis systems.

Throughout the ranks of both tennis players and administrators, concern has been raised about the inadequacy of grading systems currently being used. Most complaints are centred on the biases and unfairness of such systems and their inefficiencies. After reviewing concerns and evaluating these systems, research was undertaken to find a method of statistically evaluating player performance. The result is the Cogan RATINGS! system which is incorporated into Tennis PRO!

Fairness and Accuracy

The most important benefit of the system is its fairness and accuracy. There is nothing worse for a player than feeling cheated because of intentional or unintentional bias in decision making or a miscalculation. Tennis PRO! eliminates all subjectivity, as players are ranked on their actual performance rather than their perceived ability or "potential".

Professional Efficiency

Secondly, Associations and Clubs become more professional as all information is accurate and immediate. Tennis PRO! keeps updated records and detailed data on all members which can be quickly and easily accessed. This saves time and money on paperwork as miscalculations are avoided. For example, assigning grades to players for a competition may take a committee hours of appraisal, whereas Tennis PRO! does this task quickly and automatically.

Universal

All players are graded using the one scale, bringing together all players across all Associations throughout Australia. Therefore, players and Associations will finally be able to compare their performance on a common rating scale. This means greater membership for Associations and Clubs, as players will seek to join the Association or Club with the system that allows them to be graded universally, offering them a complete analysis of their performance and the chance to compete in any other Club - with the result added to their personal playing record. Players value the opportunity to periodically see their standard and improvements to analyse their performance and set specific goals for tennis playing and training.

Trivia

Trivia is included at the bottom of each page, just to keep you entertained.

The grand slam for a tennis player is winning all four of the major singles titles--the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and U.S. Open--in the same calendar year. The first man to win the grand slam was Don Budge (U.S.) in 1938. The first man to achieve the grand slam twice was Rodney George "Rod" Laver (Australia), as an amateur in 1962 and again in 1969, when the titles were open to professionals.
