Sub Domain Pointers

Sub domain name pointers resolve to the root level of your virtual server just like your original domain name. Sub domain pointers are an excellent way to drive more traffic to your website! Note: Domain pointers are to point to the main domain name, these cannot be setup as individual web sites residing in sub directories of your account.

Examples are http://mail.ssw.com.au, http://accounts.ssw.com.au

With the Bronze Hosting Plan your URL will appear as http://www.ssw.com.au/YourDomainName

Data Transfer / Hits

Any outward-bound traffic from your web site is considered data transfer. For example, each time a html file, image, or other element on your web page is loaded, data transfer is generated.

SSW does not host any "adult" or "warez" web sites.

Web Disk Space

Email Disk Storage per POP Account (MB)

Email Disk space refers to the amount of server disk storage each of your POP Accounts is allocated. This space is used to store your Emails and Email Attachments.

Email Aliases / Forwarders

Using Email Aliases or forwarders, you can receive any Email at (***)@yourdoma*n.com. For example, email addressed to sales@yourdoma*n.com could forward to an account at AOL (yourname@e*ample.com) or to another Email address on your domain yourname@yourdoma*n.com. (Note: Please change "*" in "a*n" to a "i")

Disaster Recovery

SSW has three Back-Up Options
  1. Standard
    SSW servers are configured with a RAID 5 Array. If any hard drive should fail, the data will be stored across the other remaining drives.
  2. On-site
    We will configure SQL Agent to perform backups of the data (weekly) and log files (daily) onto the local PC. This means if you get a corruption SSW can restore the prior version of the data.
  3. Off-Site
    We will take your back-up off-site on a weekly basis. This mean if a serious error occurs like a double hard disk failure then SSW can restore the last off-site backup.

Please note: SSW Disaster Recovery only covers DATA. SSW does not provide back-ups of your application unless it was developed by SSW.
