automated customer tracking database. This new application is the foundation
for all sales and marketing activities at Cabletron, and includes
sophisticated product quoting functions.

The system uses a SQL Server backend, and is designed to automatically
integrate with Microsoft Outlook 98 and Exchange Server 5.5. The solution
includes a unique data replication feature, automatically transferring
records from SQL Server to Exchange Server.

Ian Fewtrell, Managing Director Australia and New Zealand said "We have seen
immediate improvements in our ability to track customers. The migration of
our customer database from Exchange to SQL Server has been very smooth."

Their site is driven entirely by Active Server Pages and COM technology from a SSW database so the website reflects only the latest stock and prices. Building the website on a database also meant that General Manager Neil Waterhouse could email his customers the latest price lists in Word or Excel format at the click of a button, from the same data source.
