I have tried to register using the information in the KB article. However, every time that I do, I get a message saying "Unable to contact the web service. You must be connected to the internet to use this option." I am connected to the internet and can go to the SSW website and download versions…
As long as you can surf the web using Internet Explorer then SSW Registration should be able to connect to our servers.
The registration uses your normal web browsing port. (80)
This means if you can surf the web then your company firewall is not stopping this from working.
However if you are running a local firewall application (Like Symantec Norton Firewall) it could be stopping this activity. Disable these and try again.
