Sydney .NET User GroupWednesday 16th October

This month Adam Cogan will be talking on building Pocket PC 2002 Applications with C#. PDAs are a really convenient device for many business uses. This session shows how you can use the .NET Compact Framework to create real world applications. We'll also look at using SQL Server on a handheld device. Along the way Adam will highlight some of the features and technologies that you need to be especially careful with and show how you can overcome their limitations.

In addition George Doubinski will be talking about his recently enhanced portal site, which now has the ability to specify human-readable URLs for pages. The subjects covered are:
- HttpFilters and HttpModules in ASP.NET: what they are for and how they placed in the architecture
- global error handling in ASP.NET including HTTP errors such as 404 Not Found
- interaction between IIS and Framework runtime
