The best tools to Audit Your SQL Server Database The SQL 2000 Best Practices Analyser
Microsoft recently released a tool called Best Practices Analyser. All SQL Server developers and administrators should run this tool. Come learn about many issues you can't afford to ignore from database design and Yukon readiness to T-SQL issues and poor configuration choices. This is a great session for everyone from the new SQL Server developer to the old DBA! You'll all be impressed when you see how to run the tool and how to fix the identified issues.

The Cutting Edge

G'day Developers!
Developers love doing things in their own time such as investigating interesting things they find on the web and generally being distracted. If they don't have a project plan constantly in front of them they'll never deliver on time! In my opinion the technical spec and the project plan should be one document. Juggling too many documents leads to disaster on a project. With one document it should be clear what needs to be done, especially when each task on the spec has a box that is checked when the task is complete. A debrief is needed every three weeks at worst. The debrief helps you understand if you're planning too ambitiously, or not giving people enough work. More
