G'Day Developers!
Do you send Morning Goals?
At SSW we email the tasks we plan to achieve that day (only!) to our client (CCing our manager)
within 10 minutes of sitting at the desk, before we make any phone calls or write any emails.
This ensures our clients are fully aware of the work taking place - and gives them a chance to
change the priorities. It also allows us to get better at estimating what we will achieve in a day.
These updates are particularly useful for off-site work and most on-site work - unless a client choses
to manage the project down to the task level, and performs daily status checks. We:
Forward the previous morning goal from yesterday, striking out completed items
Comment (in a different colour) and give the reason whether any items were not completed
Copy outstanding items to today's morning goals, appending any new information
If a task is huge (e.g. clean up my email inbox) and we only aim to do a portion of it, we say so in the morning goals as well.
Note: You can use SSW eXtreme Emails! to send morning goals automatically.
